Commissioned for the RNCM Harp Ensemble and first performed on the 31st March 2011 at the RNCM Concert Concert Hall, by the ensemble.

Preface

As night falls,

one by one the city lights flicker to life.

The lamp posts like little suns shining on the concrete floor.

Walking through the lit streets,

long black shadows follow you through the night.

But as dawn breaks, unable to compete with the sun’s glow

the city lights slowly fade.
